I was finally able to shoot with this long-awaited flagship model. I wonder just how many Olympus digital cameras I've used. The clearest memory I have is of the E-20, which became my main camera. It has been decades since then, and I keep taking photographs, looking forward to the new cameras that come out every year.

I feel this time that I've really encountered an authentic digital camera geared toward pros. These photos were taken near the Obihiro suburbs in Hokkaido. Because I am the Tokachi Obihiro Tourism Ambassador, I visit this area about five times a year. I was very glad to be able to photograph an area that is burned into my memory, and my daily experience as a photographer has never served me better. In this age where cameras have advanced to the point where anyone can take a photo, we have to ask what it is that pros can express.

The new E-M1 Mark II is not too large or too small for a pro photographer, making it just the right size. It of course has Art Filters, which are my favourite, and I was able to instantly shoot with a sense of familiarity. The best feature is the feel of the shutter button, and this does not disappoint on this camera. The FL-900R features high intensity output and quick charging time in a clip-on flash unit. I can't wait to get my own and use it for work.
